Adoption Incentives held over through February 14, 2012
We love all the dogs and cats at ARF and we know you will too! Dogs that we've loved the longest have been discounted $10 for each month they've been in residence at ARF. Check for current adoption rates on the adoptable dogs webpage or on facebook. The reduced adoption fee for cats over 6 months of age is $50. Click here for a list of all the cats and kittens available at the shelter. We are sure that you'll find one you'll just love! These special reduced adoption fees will be offered until Valentine's Day.
ARF's 14th Annual Auction
Dogs and cats will reign supreme on March 3rd at the Milledgeville Country Club. Back for a 14th year, ARF's annual auction "It's Reigning Cats and Dogs" will be the event of the season for pet lovers, bargain hunters and those who just love to eat and drink in the company of good friends.
Tickets are $35 per person and are available at ARF, Animal Hospital of Milledgeville, Lakeside Veterinary Clinic, and the Milledgeville Country Club. Please reserve tickets early; only a limited number of tickets will be available at the door auction night. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission includes heavy hors d'hoeuvres and a cash bar stocked with the country club's finest. Staggered silent auctions will whet appetites until the bidding ramps up another notch during the live auction under the expert direction of the area's best auctioneer.
Already over a 100 items are in hand. The auction committee is still hard at work, and more are arriving at auction headquarters every day. Pictures of some items are available on our facebook page. Check back often, more will be added as the auction date nears.
Previous auctions have been very successful for ARF. All proceeds after auction bills are paid go towards the care of the animals. The annual auction is ARF's biggest fundraiser and funds generated from this event will keep shelter expenses paid for several months.

The Animal Rescue Foundation has partnered with HomeAgain to offer you another way to protect your dog. A microchip can be quickly and easily inserted under the dog's skin. If your dog ever becomes lost and is found by Animal Control or taken to a participating veterinarian, it can be scanned and returned to you. You can make an appointment for this service any time during normal shelter hours--Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm. Plan to spend at least half an hour at the shelter for this procedure. Registration must be completed at the time of microchip insertion. The price is $40 for your first pet and $25 for each additional pet brought in the same visit. This one-time enrollment price includes the microchip, one-time activation fee and a one year membership in the HomeAgain Pet Recovery Service. When you arrive for your appointment, your dog must be on a leash or contained in a pet taxi.
