Hi folks,
I wanted to share this picture of the aussie X Marvin my family adopted almost 2 weeks ago. He is officially named Buddy now and he's wonderful! He's everything I could have possibly hoped for. Playfull but not overbearing - more of a cuddler and he learns fast. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him. He's a great boy!
Thank you so much,

This is about 3 years late but thank you ARF for the 4 editions to our family. We are so lucky to have Luna (aka Suki), Roxanna (aka Taiku), Carmella (aka Butterbean), & last but not least Stevie (aka Emily) in our loving home. Our lives are better everyday because of them!!
Thanks,
Mary, Leslie, & Robby |

February 2008
I just wanted to touch base with the shelter to let you all know how Nala is doing. I included a few Valentine photos of her. She is the love of our lives. I want you to know how much I truly appreciate your help in our adoption. In the future if we decide to add an addition to our family we will certainly keep your shelter in mind. Again, thank you so much.

Thanks to all of ya'll for taking such good care of Socks. He has finished all of his medicine and is happy and healthy. Socks likes to play chase, sit with me by the campfire outback, play tug with his rope, get brushed, fetch tennis balls, and go for walks. Everyone that meets him falls in love because he is so sweet. He's an awesome buddy to have.

December 2007
Hey guys! Diamond is doing sooo good and the whole family just loves her to death! The first couple of days, she wouldn't eat in the mornings before we went to work, but now she's used to our schedule and is doing great! She has yet to use the bathroom in the house or kennel, she goes to the door everytime she has to potty. She loves to go running at the park with daddy! Both sets of grandparents came to see her the day she came home, all bringing gifts! She sleeps on her bed, next to our bed everynight and she hardly ever barks. Today she went to get her nails filed and the week after Christmas she's going to the vet to get her heartwarm medicine. She wasn't too crazy about a bath the first time, but we're giving her another one today, hopefully she'll do better. She does [not] chew on anything except her toys, not even the blankets in her kennel. Oh, and she loves to watch animal planet! She made herself at home very quickly, you'd think she's been here her whole life. Thanks for all your help, we'll keep you updated! Chris and Heather

Dear ARF
I just wanted to let you guys know how Griffin (formerly known as Gordy) Griff for short and Skye are doing. I had adopted Griff back in February 2007 when I had first brought him home he hid under the bed for a day, he had quickly made friends with my roommates cats. When I moved into an apartment by myself Griff was lonely so I decided it was time to get him a little sister. I adopted Skye in November of the same year when I brought her home I had expected her to be timid like Griff was and I was pleasantly surprised by how out going she was. Griff didn't know what to make of her at first but two days later they were running around like they had been together their whole life, they also sleep next to each other and clean each other. I can not thank your organization enough for allowing me to adopt these two they have brightened my life and are the perfect companions.
Thank you again,
Diana

Good morning ARF,
I felt the need to send you a quick note about Ladybird. I think she had you guys fooled! Ladybird has not displayed the least bit of frightfulness since we got home. I was really surprised when she met my son. I was afraid she would try to hide from him or be shy. Oh no….that little rascal jumped up on Cody and off they went. We were inside of the fenced in yard. Those 2 ran and played for what seemed like forever! And boy can she run fast!! She had so much fun. At bedtime, she hopped her little butt right up in my bed and took all the covers from me. She circled around about 25 times until she had her spot beat down and there she slept all night long, right in the bend of my legs. Needless to say I felt cramped up when I awoke but I didn't want to disturb her sleep so I sacrificed my comfort for hers.
To make a long story short, Ladybird's first day in her new home was wonderful…much more than I expected. Please let Kandis know that she is getting so much love from us and seems to be so happy (except for the fact that Walmart did not have her favorite treats in stock).
More updates to come. Thanks again for letting me adopt my new family member, Ladybird.

Dear ARF,
We just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how Dega and Vegas (formerly Dutch and Dutchess) were doing. We adopted them last December and they are doing great. Happy, healthy and growing like weeds. We had them for only about two weeks when they totally took over the house but they allowed my wife and I to live here too. ARF, once again you have brought happiness into our home. They are the greatest and we reccomend to anyone interested in adopting a new family member to consider adopting a pair. They are double the fun. We will send more updates later.
Thanks ARF,
Kenny & Cindi Phillips
Dacula, GA
P.S. - Their big sisters, Charlotte and Bristol (formerly Polly and Dolly) are also doing great.

September 2007
Afternoon all. I just woke up from a nap on my new front porch. This place is really neat - but I do miss you guys. My big brother, Darby is teaching me the ropes. This morning, he taught me how to run up and down the stairs on the porch. Daddy is making sure that the porches are safe for me. He has been working on them since I came home yesterday. I have my own toys and a chew bone, which I really like. Darby is sharing all his stuff with me. Well, gotta' go. Play time. Let's see what mischief I can get into. Love you all and thank you for taking such good care of me. Let me know how Brin makes out. Cosmo |

August 2007
I just wanted to write and say “thank you” for taking such good care of little Sable, who my husband and I adopted in Early June. (She's now Riley Jane Cohn J ). I know that you all face an enormous amount of heartache, and I wanted to pass along a story with a happy ending! I've attached a few pictures for you all to see what a beautiful lady Riley Jane has become, and how much happiness she has brought into our home! Milledgeville is so blessed to have a place that takes loving care of homeless pets, and I wanted you to know that little Riley Jane is happy, healthy, and abundantly loved by my husband and I, as well as her brothers Jack (dog) and Brody (cat).
Thank you again for giving her the chance to come to a loving home. |

July 2007
I finally made it to Florida. Talk about a long trip...I thought we would never get here! It was a long ride, but we made plenty of stops and I got to stretch my legs and grab a drink of water. Once we got to my new home, I was greeted by Lori and Jeff's son and his girlfriend. They thought I was beautiful! Then I got to meet Rudy...their miniature schnauzer that is a girl dog with a boy's name! Go figure! She is really pretty and has lots of toys we share. I love my new home! There is lots to do and plenty of room for me to play. We have been going on several walks each day and working on my bathroom habits. I've only made a few mistakes in the house, so I've been pretty good. We are suppose to go to the beach this weekend if it doesn't rain again. I will let you know what I think of the ocean and salty water. Who knows, maybe I'll catch a wave or two! Oh, by the way, my new name is Belle. Lori and Jeff's son thought of it because I reminded him of a Southern Belle. You know, he was born and raised in Georgia before moving to Florida, too. I hear he will be off to college soon, but comes home a lot to visit. Love and miss all of you! Thank you for taking such great care of me while I was there. I will always remember what each of you did for me and how you helped to find my new family. They promise to take great care of me! Love, Belle (Milly) |

Hi.
Just wanted to send you an update on how Murphy; has been doing
since we took him home late September from ARF. There is never a
dull moment with him. In October, we enrolled him into
obedience training. He received most improved.
His favorite activities are chewing on anything that is
plastic and wicker. Since he has been a good boy, Santa brought
him his very own dog bed that he loves to cuddle up with.
His favorite human food is Ritz crackers and cheese. He
is one spoiled baby. There is never a dull moment with him.
I believe he knows how
much we love him and how glad we are that he has become such a part of
our lives.
As you can tell, we are very proud parents and owe it all
to ARF. Thank you all again for letting us give him a happy home
and for the work you
continue to do daily.
Happy 2007!!

We adopted Skye and Boots about three
weeks ago. We are happy to say that they are both well adjusted in our
home. Skye is very playful with our daughters, Abby and Katie (ages
five and two), while Boots is more laid back and enjoys snuggling at
bedtime. Abby and Katie love both of the new additions to our family
and even though we have only had them a short time, we cannot imagine
our home without them. I would recommend for anyone who is looking for
a pet to adopt before buying at a pet store. You are getting more than
just an animal when you adopt, you are getting a new member of your
family.
